Hi Mizuno!
Game Improvement Golf is now a Mizuno Golf Performance Fitting Center!
About 2 years ago I spent a few days learning club fitting skills from Dana Upshaw – who is called the "Golf Club Whisperer" when he is talked about in Golf Digest. When I was there, one of the things that I learned about was the quality of Mizuno irons, and also the quality of their iron fitting cart. Since that time, one of my dreams has been to become an authorized Mizuno Golf iron fitting center.
Well, yesterday that dream became a reality! Deron Lorio, the Mizuno Territory Manager for Tennessee (and 5 other states) visited me to train me in using the Mizuno fitting cart. When he left the cart stayed with me! There are three main reasons that I think being able to offer Mizuno custom-fitted irons will be a win for golfers:
- Mizuno has develeped a "Shaft Optimizer" that – after a golfer makes 3 swings – provides suggestions for iron shafts that are likely to be a best fit for the golfer. The analyzer bases this shaft suggestion on five different characteristics of the golfer's swing;
- Mizuno irons are well-known for their quality. In addition they have, over the past few years, developed some of the best-performing high-COR irons that are available;
- Finally, I will be able to combine the quality of Mizuno irons with my expertise in club fitting and club building – to ensure that golfers get high-performance golf clubs that feel perfect for them.
So Thanks Mizuno! – I am excited that you have provided me with this opportunity to combine true custom fitting with Mizuno Quality – to the benefit of East Tennessee Golfers!
