Winter Golf Evaluation – The “Grip Squared” Approach
All of us want to make "this" year the best golf year we have ever had. Getting your clubs regripped is one of those things you can do in the winter to help you play better during the year. The good news is that, maybe more than ever before, doing this can pay dividends to your game. There is so much new grip technology out there – larger grips, lighter grips, grips that do not taper, grips that are soft and tacky and have good feel even in wet conditions. Maybe there is a new type of grip that will more suite how you hold the golf club. Checking out all of the options is an easy winter game improvement activity.
Perhaps more than just changing your grips in the winter, you should also consider "starting from ground zero" and checking and ensuring that you are gripping the club properly. It is so easy to lapse into a grip that, for example, has the left hand too weak or the right hand too strong. Your grip is the connection between you and the club and a poor grip affects how you swing the golf club and the kinds of results you produce. Tonight I was remembering reading, many times in the past, about how Jack Nicklaus started over from scratch every winter – rebuilding his swing from the basics. So consider finding someone with the knowledge of how to create a good grip to look at yours and help you ensure that you have a firm foundation for your golf swing.
The Fit Is IT!!
