Confronting Golf Adversity
Confronting Golf Adversity
Will I Find The “Good” From Last Week?
For the first time in two years, we did our Alabama Robert Trent Jones Trail golf trip last week. I want to say I was hopeful that I would score well and have a great time. The truth – in my heart I knew I was not ready to play well (as I said last week, I had only played four rounds this year). My expectations were way too high.
Well, the results should not have been a surprise. By far the worst scoring I ever had in the 10 our so years of golf trips I have been on. Did not really pass the fun test.
What to do? There are some tweaks I need to do to my single length irons, so far they are not performing for me as well as I had hoped. I have figured out the changes to make to them, and will be doing so in the next week or so. I like puzzles – and I will solve this one.
The most fun parts of the past week? Well, time with friends and good food. And never giving up even though my golf performance was frustrating.
But also, I spent a lot of time looking for some “answers” by listening (three times) to my friend Tom Sterner’s new audio series – 7 Mini-Sessions To Change Your Life. There are some good lessons in this series that relate to what I call my “Anti Zone” golf performance last week. You will hear some of the details in my podcast interview with Tom NEXT week.
Until then “Do – Observe – Correct” – and step back and start again.
