Use A Putting Grip That Works For YOU
A golfer and friend from out-of-state contacts me from time to time about his game. Recently he noted to me that he is having some “yippy” issues with long putts – and I have asked him to weigh his putter and get that information back to me.
But then I asked this question – have you experimented with using some version of a claw grip to see if it helps your putting? He kind of hesitated and then said no he hasn’t.
I then shared my personal story related to using a claw grip for my putting. I started having putting yips about 5 years ago, and have had pretty good success for a few years using a claw grip. However, every once in awhile I think “maybe I can go back to conventional.” Well, every time I do that – at least so far – I have been disappointed. And I have come to a “So What!” conclusion about this. I am a good putter.
The point I made to him – and also to you if it is relevant – is there is NOTHING WRONG with putting using some type of a Claw Grip. It does not affect your ability to be manly! He immediately related to that, and is going to experiment with different versions of a Claw Grip.
Here are some examples of different types of Claw Putting Grips. Make More Putts!
