My Encouraging “Early” STACK System Results
Dr. Sasho MacKenzie (well known biomechanics expert) and Marty Jertson (Ping) developed The Stack System – more well-known now since Matt Fitzpatrick got a lot of press after the U.S. Open for how it helped him significantly improve his driving distance.
Sasho wrote “It’s Fun To Be Fast” in a recent twitter post – it seemed a bit much for 72-year old me to use those exact words [I said Fast(er)!!]. I have been using STACK since early March 2022 – and am VERY pleased with my personal results. Here are a few tid bits of my experience so far:
- It is valuable to watch this video How The STACK System Works. The swing club is a hybrid length, and there are many many options for the club weights to use in swing speed sessions. You are totally guided for how each session is done.
- It is VERY IMPORTANT to be fully warmed up before you do one of these sessions. The expectation is to make some very aggressive swings as you get more and more into using STACK. As with any swing speed improvement system BE CAREFUL.
- I saw some very good potential improvements over the first two months of using STACK. But then I hit a plateau, and only just this week gained an extra 4 yards of potential driving distance. If you consider using STACK – be in for the LONG TERM. Change takes time.
- One fun thing that shows how sophisticated the STACK system is. I missed 2 weeks of training because of having COVID. When I started back, STACK knew that I should “ease back into” the training, and the first two coming back sessions were designed to help me be careful. Pretty neat!
- STACK is presently available for use with iPhones only. Hoping an Android version comes soon.
Overall using STACK has been well worth the effort – “It’s Fun To Be Fast(er)!!”
